About the role
We’re on the lookout for a Senior Test Automation Engineer who’s passionate about building robust, scalable testing frameworks and driving quality outcomes. You’ll join a highly collaborative delivery team, playing a critical role in leading both manual and automation testing practices across enterprise systems and integration projects.
This is a hands-on technical role with a strong emphasis on stakeholder engagement, process improvement, and mentoring junior engineers. The ideal candidate will bring a mix of technical capability, strong communication skills, and a genuine team-first attitude.
What you’ll be doing
- Lead testing efforts across the full SDLC, including manual and automation testing
- Design and implement automation frameworks that are scalable, reusable, and reliable
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed testing into Agile delivery pipelines
- Mentor junior testers and support ongoing test process improvement
- Engage confidently with senior stakeholders to demonstrate the value of testing practices
- Identify opportunities to optimise performance, coverage, and maintainability across systems
Skills and experience required
- Minimum of 5+ years' experience across both manual and automation testing
- Strong knowledge of testing types: regression, UAT, smoke, system, performance, functional, and unit testing
- Proficiency in Java and object-oriented programming
- Hands-on experience with testing tools like Selenium, Cucumber, JMeter, and Playwright
- BDD test case experience using Gherkin/Cucumber/SpecFlow or similar
- API testing using tools such as REST Assured or RestSharp
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automation practices within Agile teams
- Familiarity with tools like Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions
- Bonus points for experience testing ERP/CRM systems like SAP, Salesforce, or Microsoft Dynamics 365
- Exposure to AWS or other cloud platforms a plus
